Actually, have you actually, I lived in Killeen Texas for like a few months.

I briefly looked at because I wanted to know what I wanted, what I was going to wear the in 2000. He's a man.

So I'm going to tell you of a very bizarre AF murder story and we've not talked about mad, we're not done a real episode on that.

We're going to talk about all kinds of of characters and people and it might get a little confusing and that's okay because I'll get confused with you, okay, cool. But so if it if it's okay, mmkay, So Drive South out of Houston Texas down I-45 and you'll see nothing a grade-a interest just a bunch open lions and this pattern around the marsh is in the bag ioads in the Retention Ponds and the oil fields, sure?

And The Calder Road Fields were owned by this petrol Chemical Company and its acres and acres of land. And there's there's not much on it. And, you know, like I said, there's this patterning of houses and chemical camps like industrial, like kind of like in Denver Frick. Why am I going blank? The place when you drive onto 270 and it's like industrial whooping. Yeah, Kim.

7:01 You're like Globe, Ville, and stuff like that. Gasps blowing. Now, the thing is all of the, this is like, stinky industrial. Yeah, where the dog food during a plant is gas plant. So gross. It's just less people, right? Yeah, exactly. So, it's super and the people that live there just probably don't have a lot of means because it's like a cheap to live there. Guys. Know, not desirable. So it's real. This is real sprawled out. So there and then it was a great place for this horse. Riding come, there was a horse-riding business. There was just Perfect. As lots of lands, right? People to go riding horses. Easy access right off iPhone, 5, iPhone 5.

7:43 Tristram trailer homes spattered around a few hundred yards apart. Yeah, and there was this Dead End Road that just dead it into nothing. It was called her is called Calder Road, okay? And You know, past, that's how you got to the Horse Park and the trailers, and then it just get it it dead-ended. And, and this is where, you know, that petrol company owned these. These fields these lands, right? When they went in boldly by everything around it to keep it away from the public. Yeah, so I work in oil and gas. So there's a huge, there's a huge like oil and gas companies will buy up the rights or at least least the land or buy up land and text. Like huge oil country.

8:30 So there's a lot of like, owning land or owning the mineral rights yes. And when you're in like so you were talking about those horse like they probably the horse folks probably rented from the land from the oil company. Yeah. Okay. That makes sense. When was this? So now we're in the mid 80s, okay 80s. Okay. Where was this? Is where we are today. We're right now. Okay? Now, just north of Calder. Road was the small little Housing Development that was just starting to pop up and until then other than that, writing horse on the small little business parcel and maybe a few trailers spattered here. And there there was really no reason to be out there like because it was nothing out there. Yeah.

9:21 You just very desolate and so On April 6th. 1984, we're going right in the mids, mid 80s. There was this home. It was owned by this couple and they had a dog and a boy. And so the boy and his dog, they got in their play and they're, they're one of these trailers and they're going out and playing, and right on the edge of their or out, but the edge of the property is kind of like Marsh and swamp and Forest, you know, trees and stuff. Yeah, dense and thick out, it's kind of like, planes, planes, planes, planes, planes, Trees trees, trees in Marsh, right? Okay. And so the boys playing with his dog, And his dog runs into the into the woods and he figures. He's just chasing a squirrel like he always does or some animal or knees like the dogs going to come back. Sure.

10:10 Some so the dog does in fact come back and he's got this like big ball in his mouth, this is the boys. Like where did you get this ball? And then I like uh oh that's a skull shut up. Oh my god. Well, one, okay, couple things. Yeah, how Old was this boy like are some yeah young boy so he is there you don't really have you're saying it's an early Housing Development so it's not like they have a ton of he was in the trailer so they're not even in the Housing Development. Okay? Yeah. They're outside of Justice on the other like the other side of the road near the the horse area. There's some trailers spattered about he's there. So he is there and it's not like they have a ton of no neighbors.

The could you imagine you know with the human skull. Well, it's like that saying like anytime things look like like like if it looks like a body or a mannequin. It's never just a mannequin. It's never a toy. Yeah. It's always something more Macabre haha. Yeah I could not imagine. So what happened one of the boy do shit. So he went tells his parents, his parents are like what? And they call it police. The police end up finding out heute, the full skeleton, oh my God, just in the area in the area in that Marsh area. Yeah.

Excuse me, victim, number 1, victim one, oh good God. That means that there's more than one. So Yes, it would. You start numbering things? Yeah, way to go Lee, shh? Yeah, yeah. Fucking go figure if there's one its victim number one. There's gonna be more than one last. Sorry. Go ahead, Kevin so on September 84 okay. Laura Miller tells her dad That her boyfriends gonna come over, is that? Okay, and our dad goes sure but we just moved into the house. This isn't the Housing Development? Okay.

12:31 We don't have a home phone hooked up yet because back then we didn't have cell phones. You have a landline? Yeah, and so, her mom takes her to the convenience store, on our way, to work to the pay phone to do, use the pay phone to call her boyfriend and her mom is like, hurry up. I'm gonna be late for work and she's like, okay, I can talking to my boyfriend. Like you go to work. I'll just walk home was like half a mile. Sure no big deal. Yeah. So she's like fine. so later that my dad gets home, No, Laura mom gets home. No Laura and they think okay, well she's still with her boyfriend, right back in those days. You couldn't just like, yeah, it's like how I'm up on their cellphone hexter daughter.

13:15 Like, where are you? Yeah, her boyfriend rings. The doorbell? Where's Laura? My parents are like, oh my God. We thought she was with you. No, not with me like, oh my God. So now is panic. Yeah, of course. Just looking at nearby hospitals, there's absolutely nothing. They report it to the police. And unfortunately, the police know, Laura as kind of a frequent runaway. How old is she again like 16? Yeah. Okay. And so the police go does. She's a runaway? Just wait by your phone. She'll call you back. Yeah, and by the way, there's no need to go to the media. You don't need to do the posters. Don't do all that stuff.

Just gonna call you so they totally didn't take it seriously, so, The issue is they should have because they knew this wasn't the first report of a girl missing in the area. It turns out that there was this other girl come to find out named, Heidi Fay, who live very close to where Laura lived who had been reported disappeared back in October of 83, still not found. Why? So this should have been like a little more on it, right? Like I get, okay, she's run away a hundred times. But now you've seen these girls are starting to disappear. Like if you hadn't got a little bit you need to go like hmm. Well and also there's a thing with like police officers where you know, the family is like no no I know my kid right? She she's obsessed with her boyfriend she's 16 years old like right?

15:01 Yeah, she her boyfriend came over Her and his not seen her. Yeah. So this is not normal. If anyone did not run away? No, but they don't, they don't take it seriously. So now Heidi, Faye, those talked about, she's in her early 20s, early 20s, excuse me, she works at a place called the Texas Moon, which is like a bar. Okay. And she's a cocktail waitress. And so she's on her way to Houston to help her boyfriend with an apartment that he was fixing up. And she was going to work. There's sorry she was going to walk to the convenience store to call her boyfriend.

15:44 Right? And so she could get coordinator right up to you. Because that's where her boyfriend lived, because Houston's not very far. But hello, she never shows up in Houston. I saw the clerk at the store says that he saw her, make a call from that same. Tell aboot phone booth. That Laura was, was he going to use before to call her boyfriend and so, the police then, say, okay, well, she's a runaway, she's a runaway to yeah. Wait by your phone, but she's not even for posters. I don't need to call. She's in her mid 20s. Helping out her boyfriend.

16:25 That was very clear about like what she was going to do. But she's a she's dead. She's around the way y'all. Y'all fuck these police officers at them hate them. So you remember that boy and his dog back in April of 84 with the with the ball that number one, victim. Number one, that was Heidi, that was Heidi, Heidi. Oh my God. So that's that was found April of 84. Uh-huh. Disregard. She went missing in October of 83. Yep.

17:05 So she had been missing for less than a year. Yes, love and month. Same exact area. Same that, then Laura Laura. They both are on the same pay phone, they're like, oh no. These are both just runaways, no, no thought, no anything else, you know, Podunk like duh Bullshit. Duh. I'd like of course we don't care about these women. That's all. Yeah. That's what it is. Young, poor Reckless women. We don't care about. I mean, come on Young and Reckless should be synonymous. That's like the same thing honestly like, you know, being young and being Reckless like that's where you figure out your shit.

Connected bullshit. Chill out, dude. Not connected. He's like, wait a second. This like, dude, at the convenience store, he's a better. He's a better detective than these fucking detectives are. 18:29 And so, the police say and by the way, don't contact Heidi's family. What now don't discuss this with anybody else. What up? Don't contact them. You would think that the police want to help they sucked ass. Okay, fuck these beliefs are off. I'm as I was researching this and I just come more and more pissed at these people. Yeah because they because they weren't taking anything serious know. It's like good old boys club man. Not that big of a deal, right? If it was a rich if it was a rich girl, original white girl, privileged white, girl. Yeah, that's yeah. That's one thing. But you know, these these kids are, you know. Yeah. I lived in trailers. Trashy, in the shitty industrial oil area. Someone ran away.

This one boys are riding their bikes in the same area where the boy and his dog found that body back in Eighty year. They find the skeleton of another woman. No mmm-hmm. And so while the police were investigating the crime, they came across yet another body. Another body in the same area. 25 yards away from that one. Shut up. Okay. Wait a second to well coincidence. 34 What what the fuck you should be? You should have tractors and like a whole you should just going like Hey, FBI.

20:10 Yeah, yeah. You please help us help. Yeah, clearly, we can't handle this. Okay. So both of their bodies are on their backs. They're under trees as if they had just been laid there. So they were, they weren't even covered. No, no, the bodies are just laying it out laid there, just laying there that takes some balls. Wow, Jane Doe shot with a 22 caliber bullet in the spine, oh my God. And they look at the Third Body and realize through dental records that they just found Laura Miller. That was number three. Three. So we have number one, victim. Number 1, we have an unknown and lower number and Laura Miller. Oh my God.

20:55 So they find this blue plaid Western shirt near Laura's body much like the one I am wearing right now and they didn't have DNA at this time. So, as several of our stories, we've talked about in the past effing technology, didn't exist, right? Yeah. So, but they did tag the shirt, And so, they but the city police department's when they kept it, of course. Okay. So now people are kind of or the it's like serial killer potential because here, right finding multiple bodies, move the same location somewhere in the girl Cinco. So they're all looking like similar mass, the molar young girls and then all of them are being disposed of similarly, right?

They do know about, they should know about, right? So it seems as if us so it appears well, someone's found the perfect dumping grounds. It's isolated. No one goes back there. No reason to go back there. I can just dump on my bonus bag here so then the locals start calling it, the Texas Killing Fields. Oh my God. So can you imagine living in this area?

There's a lot of growth which brings out all of The Drifters and the criminals. I mean, this is when all, they all just kind of come swooping in and in November 7th of 76, T1. Two girls. Go missing ones. By the name of Maria Johnson. She's 15 years old, and Debbie, Ackerman also 15 their best friends. Oh no, And these girls are like 15 year old girls wanting to you know it's a typical 15 year old girl and they can be a little what's the word?

It's the 70s 90 smoking surfing cares. You know what? It's like, no cares. I'm Invincible hippie. and on November 17th, ten days later.

24:21 They found a body. And the very next day they find another body very close by and they finally the same feel of water. It's kind of similar not on the field but clothes and it find them in this pool of water. Kind of like a marsh. Yeah. So now between 1971 and 77, we have eleven young, girl, 77 being murdered in the Houston area. We're at eleven that we know of. Wow this is that we at that as we know it and in this Houston area specifically the southern little area down by Galveston, you know west of 45, this place that I'm talking about. So between Houston and Galveston 45, there's this that area. Um's this area of murder.

And so when these girls are go missing in these different District counties, whatever, they're not communicating with each other. So you know, counting number one goes, oh, we have a dead girl and then counting number two goes, oh, we have a dead girl little. Did they know they have an 11?

Doesn't even matter like so blatant and you have like, women who are, what is it from fifteen to twenty twenties? Like that's a type you yeah, you would think that they would be but they don't of course not. And they're not going to communicate with each other, which is part of the problem, right? Like problem.

And because there had been a little bit of a lull. Oh, so they hadn't found any girls in these like Fields. Yes. Like between 77 like early 80s, right? Because the between 71 and 77, that's when they found this when they had like these 1112 girl. Right, six years.

But they're kind of, in a different area of I-45, but still kind of in that same Report on Corridor, and this area is called League City, that's what they call them. And it's actually not far from the colder roads. Like really is literally not fly. I think it's just on either of them, the other side of 45 we're just up or down. I can't remember, but it's still, I mean just miles. I mean, it's just within this area, right? so, In nineteen. So there's this guy named Clyde, Hedrick. And in an 86, this Clyde meets this woman. She has two children.

28:28 And one is this young girl? And this little young girls, name is named Marla. And he says, he tells her and the family that, you know, he came from Florida to Houston was part of this housing. Boom, right? He needed work, as he was a construction worker. And so, the young girl's biological dad because Mom was divorced, right? And she's meeting this Clyde guy. Well, the The girl's biological dad finds out that his ex-wife with who has his children, right? Is dating. So he goes, does background check because he Clyde on Clyde because he's, you know, he's like make sure that his kids are cool. Yeah, who's around my children is around my shoulder, right? So he goes, it doesn't background. Check finds out Clyde was in prison in Florida, for assault. And he was in jail in Texas for what they called abuse of a corpse.

Got a little warm like birds the beasts. Yeah yeah exactly. Wow. Bernie's abuse of a corpse you know burning yes. Yes when they were pretending like he was What was it weekend weekend with Bernie?

Now candy her BFF takes her to that bar was telling you about Texas Moon. Uh-huh. Oh yeah. That the other girl had been a natural reaches a exactly victim number three. Yes yeah. That's where she meets. Oh, she meets Clyde Hedrick and they hit it off. Okay. What candy can't find Ellen the next morning, what? And so She and the police because she reports it asks Clyde.

She just left with some friends and she just kind of ditched me at the bar and so weeks, go by and her friend Kandi's getting completely worried. But she some somehow, she's the keeps thinking, you know, Clyde there's some to Clyde. Come on, Clyde. Something's happening? Yeah, tell me what's happening. And she's, she's just hounding him and hounding him and hounding him. And she's doing this constantly because She knows, he knows something. And finally, he's had enough. And in this heated argument, he says her fine. You want to know where she is. I will show you where she is and he puts candy in the car and they drive. Now, first of all, if I was candy, I'd be shitting myself. Well candy, clearly get in the car, well, because she is, probably like, there's some, she's a doc, she's a dog with a bone.

And she's so concerned, she's not even thinking of her own well-being because of course the last thing you would think is like maybe this dudes like killing people.

That is this entry to this like an eroge Road Bridge area to gallop to gout what they call Galveston Island and is this isolated dirt road and he gets through there. And he moves some tires. And he goes, there she is. And there was Alan Beason underneath the tires? Not even married.

Leave they go about their business. now candy, Can you imagine no going through her brain? No, just on that, on that drive back, one. Oh my God. You just saw your best fucking friend. Yes, like dead dead underneath some effing tires. Okay, that's shock right, trauma.

I'd be fucking, I'd be like, well, I have to get back in the Our there's no other way for me to get back. Yep. That drive must have seemed like it was, ours, ready? Yeah. Wow. So that's just chewing on her brain. Six months goes by six months and she hasn't said anything since Edward. Wow, she's had enough. I can't do it anymore. It's eating her up. She finally goes to the police. Good for her. You go. Candy, least. She did it. Yes. So the police go to Clyde Clyde tells the police. Now what had happened was that they'd gone out swimming into this water.

35:52 They went skinny-dipping and he Dives down. And when he comes up, she's just floating in the water. No, ya didn't know what happened to her and so he panics he puts her in the back of the truck and then on the way the hospital he's like, I gotta ditch this body because I don't want to be suspected of Foul Play so I managed to put her under some tires. Because that makes sense. What kind of person are you dealing with who goes? Hmm, I don't want to be suspected of how play.
